Sudamina, pimples in babies from heat

Babies born in summer usually have pimples on their skin due to high temperatures. This rash or sweat is a skin disorder, which is not important, although it is a bit unsightly. It is important not to confuse it with other childhood diseases in which a rash may appear on the skin and, for this reason, it is advisable to consult with your pediatrician.

Although it is very common in the first months of life in babies, prickly pear can break out in older children when the thermometer rises above 30 ° C. It can also be itchy as a result of inflamed skin.

The pimples produced by sweat break out when the baby's skin does not let sweat escape and it remains trapped in the layers of the dermis, forming small red pimples. Clogged glands cannot remove sweat and, for this reason, pimples can evolve into tiny blisters.

When the sweat is mild, the tiny blisters break easily and crust over. But if the heat continues, the red bumps can itch and reappear frequently in different areas of the body. The most common are the forehead, cheeks, eyelids and nose. But they also usually appear on the arms, neck and upper torso, as well as in the diaper area and on the thighs when tight rubber bands clog the sweat glands.

The best recommendation to keep your baby free of sweat is to avoid sweating, but in summer, with the rise in temperatures, it is a difficult task. These tips can help you keep your baby cool:

1. Check her diaper frequently. Change it as soon as it is wet so it does not accumulate heat and moisture. Thus, in addition, you prevent diaper rash.

2. The bath only with water. Refresh your baby by soaking him in warm water in his bathtub and do not use gels or soaps that can irritate his skin.

3. Dry it with gentle touches. Avoid rubbing him with the towel and pat him dry to absorb the moisture from his skin. Avoid applying lotions or powders that can clog the pores of your skin.

4. Dress him in light clothing. Cotton fabrics are breathable and sweat-wicking. Avoid wearing tight clothing.

5. Fresh environment. Use the air conditioning to cool your room. It is advisable to put it on for a while before taking it to the room so that the baby does not receive the air conditioning directly. They also cool the fans, which move the air.

6. Run away from the sun. Avoid exposing him to the sun and if he's already crawling, don't let him do too much physical activity in the hottest hours.

7. Touch his neck. To find out if your baby is hot or sweating, touch the back of his neck, if it is wet, it is hot.

When the prickly pear pimples have already appeared, in addition to applying all the preventive tips to prevent them from getting worse, your pediatrician may recommend a cortisone cream, in the most severe cases. As a home remedy, you can prepare a mixture of water with a pinch of bicarbonate to refresh the affected areas. Let the skin air dry.
